ME
I am a dedicated mother of two and a proud grandmother of one granddaughter. As a passionate business owner, I have successfully ran a childcare center for over 10 years, nurturing the growth and development of countless children. Currently, I am enhancing my skills and knowledge by pursuing Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education to demonstrate my commitment to providing the best quality care and learning environment for young children. My childcare center is called "Tynee Tots" and I am the proud owner of this baby.
I chose the P.R.I.D.E teacher cohort, because I wanted to gain more knowledge on how to teach my children about our heritage. I chose skin tones because I always hear them discussing their skin and how they are not black because of their lighter skin. I would try and explain it in so many different ways about skin color, some of the children would get it and some would not. When I heard about the P.R.I.D.E. cohort , I said this would be perfect, getting to know other people's opinion and examples on how others have this same conversation of how and what they teach their preschoolers to understand. I really enjoyed the time we all shared together. My advise to future teacher cohorts would be, if you get chosen for this cohort to put your all into it because its really worth it.
