Sometimes we get stuck in the routine of "survival". Many of us who grow up in poverty or face financial struggles young, forget to stop, breathe, and enjoy the view.
These life skill classes can help prevent that pattern from continuing. We aim to host one class a month for the year of 2026. Each class will cover an important skill that is vital in everyday life (budgeting, cooking, communication, stress management, to job readiness).
We will host these classes in person (at various locations around Houston) and on Zoom! So do not worry if you cannot make it this information will still be available to you.
All life skill classes will be held at Deputy Darren Almendarez Community Center.
We will talk about the importance of building a strong foundation (roots) for you to grow strong. How the benefit of supporting our planet and yourself can impact your life in so many ways.
We will discuss healthy daily hygiene habits to practice and plant maintenance. Everyone will leave with their OWN plant.
May 11th from 3PM-5PM at James Driver Park
