Contribution: the Key to Successful Career Education & Planning
Outsmart College is an initiative of The Contribution Project. The Project promotes Career Technical Education. It also encourages Parents and College-Bound students to look beyond college degrees to an ultimate career goal. Frankly, it encourages Students to escape the dead-end of entitlements and handouts; and challenges them to imagine how they will earn a living by contributing to the economy.
Why focus on the concept of contribution?
A meaningful CAREER should be a student's goal, NOT just College!
The Contribution Project frames career education as promoting value-creation and contribution in the economy (and for the betterment of society). How will the student ultimately contribute in the workplace -- to earn the "good salary" they want?
It frames a career as a vehicle of doing or creating something of value -- Not just collecting information or degrees.
It frames a career as an exchange of value, where the individual’s contribution earns income.
For parents and educators alike, it emphasizes the ultimate “Value of Education Beyond School” -- for the success of the student, and value to society.
