Though studying abroad can be a lot of fun, you’re still expected to hit the books every now and again. Luckily, Galway has a lot of great cafes and restaurants perfect for getting some work done.
Located on Dominick Street, Rouge is a french cafe with a lot of yummy pastries and sandwiches to help fuel your study sessions. With free wifi and plenty of coffee, you should be able to stay in the zone to get your work done.
The Lane Cafe is located on Druid Lane, just off of Quay Street. It’s often filled with students also doing schoolwork. There are a lot of tables, both inside and outside, as well as free wifi. There’s also a menu with something for everyone on it, making it an ideal study spot.
Mocha Beans has a ton of different locations, whether you want to be close to campus or in the city centre. They have a ton of different coffees, teas or hot chocolates, and they usually have a seasonal menu so you can try something new every time you pop in. There’s also some great food options for breakfast or lunch to help you keep your energy up.
The Secret Garden is one of the best spots in Galway, located on William Street. It’s super lowkey to keep you focused on your work. There’s cats wandering around to keep you company while you work on assignments. The only con to this cafe is that there’s no wifi, so you’ll have to use your hotspot or do work offline.
Tartare is another favorite on Dominick Street. It’s a little on the pricey side, which is why it’s not higher up on the list but there’s some great food options and plenty of seating, as well as free wifi. It’s also a wine bar so you can enjoy a drink after you get your work done.
Located right in Eyre Square, Cafe Nero is a great spot to get some work done. There’s plenty of coffee as well as seating inside and outside. It’s a good spot to do group work because it’s not terribly quiet. However, since it’s right in the heart of the city centre, it can be hard to get a seat at busier times. When it’s crowded, the wifi slows considerably making it hard to complete assignments.
These are just a few of the great cafes and restaurants in Galway where you can get some work done. There are plenty of great spots to study and explore the town while you get some work done.
