Day Care Overview
We are a five-star daycare, built in 2003, located in the heart of Vanceboro. Our center is full of laughter, learning, and love. We serve children of all ages 6 weeks - 12 years old. We are open 6:15 am to 6:00 pm. We provide daycare services, preschool, afterschool care, and summer camp activities for our school aged students. WHO IS THE OWNER?
My name is Lisa Wetherington. I am the owner of Our Children Child Care. I am a retired teacher. I taught in Craven County Schools for 25 years. I taught Preschool, Kindergarten, first grade, reading, and sixth grade. I taught at Vanceboro Farm Life in Vanceboro and West Craven Middle School in New Bern, NC. I built and opened Our Children Child Care to help serve our children in the Vanceboro community 22 years ago. I have three daughters, Lanie, Claire, and Rachel and three bonus children whom I love very much: Brittany, Johnny, and Kaitlyn. I am married to my forever husband John. John served 22 years in the Marine Corp and continues to serve at Cherry Point overseeing the Harrier program. Caring for and teaching children is my life's work. I love God, family, reading, dogs, travel, and the beach. None of the work that we do at Our Children Child Care would be possible without God and our fabulous and dedicated employee family.
