How Our SMS Service Works
When a small business signs up with Ottomate CT, we provision a dedicated SMS-enabled phone number for their business and configure an AI assistant tuned to their specific services, hours, pricing, and tone of voice.
When a customer of that business sends a text message to the business, the message is received by the Ottomate CT platform, processed by our AI engine, and a personalized reply is sent back to the customer within seconds. The AI is able to answer service questions, provide pricing, capture booking requests, and route urgent matters to the business owner directly.
Every conversation is logged for the business owner to review, and the business owner can step in and take over any conversation at any time. The AI is positioned as the business's assistant, never as a replacement for the business owner.
Types of Messages We Send
On behalf of our small business clients, the Ottomate CT platform sends the following types of SMS messages to customers who have opted in:
Responses to inbound customer inquiries about services, hours, location, and pricing.
Appointment scheduling messages, including confirmations, reminders, and rescheduling requests.
Quote and estimate responses for services that customers ask about.
Follow-up messages after a customer interaction or completed service.
General customer service communications related to the customer's relationship with the business.
We do not send marketing blasts, promotional campaigns, or unsolicited messages. Every message sent through our platform is either a direct response to a customer who initiated contact or a transactional message related to a service the customer has requested.
How Customers Opt In
Customers of our business clients consent to receive SMS messages through one of three methods:
By submitting a contact form on the participating business's website that includes a clear, unchecked SMS consent checkbox with full disclosure language.
By texting the participating business directly to initiate a conversation, which establishes conversational consent.
By providing their phone number in person and checking a written consent box on a paper form with the same disclosure language.
SMS consent is always optional and is never required to complete a purchase, create an account, or receive any service from one of our business clients. Consent checkboxes are never pre-checked.
Opt-Out and Help
Every customer can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After replying STOP, the customer receives one confirmation message acknowledging their opt-out, and no further SMS messages are sent to their phone number. Customers can reply HELP at any time to receive assistance and contact information for the business.
Pricing and Subscription
Ottomate CT operates on a flat-rate monthly subscription model with no long-term contracts and no per-message overage fees within standard usage limits. Pricing is transparent and is shared during the initial consultation. We do not lock clients into multi-year agreements and we never share or sell client data.
