September in the Maldives offers warm tropical weather, perfect for a surf and snorkel retreat.
While it’s the southwest monsoon season, you can enjoy consistent temperatures around 30°C (86°F) and refreshing sea breezes.
Expect occasional tropical showers, which clear up quickly, leaving plenty of time for adventure. The waves are ideal for surfing, and the vibrant marine life makes snorkeling an unforgettable experience.
Bonus: September is part of the low season, so you’ll enjoy quieter beaches!
We do NOT have single rooms on the boat, so it's essential to have an open mind regarding sharing a twin room with another solo traveler. We will suggest some sharing based on the incoming bookings and we will also create a whatsapp group so that you can get in touch with each other.

The Open System Model (OSM) developed by Kambiz Poostchi, emphasizes that all systems, including human social systems like organizations and societies, are inherently interconnected and function within a larger, dynamic whole. Systems do not derive their identity from their individual components but from their role and function within a broader structure.
To operate effectively, systems must be understood holistically, with a clear alignment toward their overarching purpose. Meaning, identity, and motivation emerge from systemic belonging. Leadership plays a crucial role in fostering systemic awareness, as managing complexity requires a higher-order ability to think systemically.
In an interconnected world, fragmented thinking leads to inefficiencies and loss of meaning. Instead, systemic thinking - acknowledging interdependencies, diversity, and structural order - enables adaptability and balance. The effectiveness of an open system depends on the systemic maturity and awareness of its members and leaders, making systemic leadership essential for navigating change and complexity.
The OpenSystem Model, offers profound insights into the core principles of open systems. It provides practical tools for diagnosis and leadership, helping us uncover root causes and focus on what truly matters.
You need to be at the level of an intermediate surfer!
This means you moved beyond the basics and you are comfortable in the water. You can:
Paddle efficiently and position yourself correctly in the lineup.
Catch unbroken (green) waves consistently.
Perform basic manoeuvres like trimming, bottom turns, and small cutbacks.
Read waves and choose the right ones to ride.
Handle slightly bigger waves (around shoulder to head-high) and navigate small crowds.
Turtle roll (on a longboard) or duck dive (on a shortboard) to get through the whitewater.
While still refining your technique, intermediate surfers have the confidence to surf independently in a variety of conditions and are working on improving their style, flow, and maneuverability.
This is what you need to be ready for the trip!
