''OSFS-Meca2026'' is the 3rd seminar on Open Source and Free software applied in mechanical engineering. The event will take place on October 24, 2026, at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Ziane Achour University of Djelfa and with partnership of the Laboratory for Development in Mechanics and Materials (LDMM).

OSFS events started with the 1st workshop ''OSFSD-2022'' on March 23, 2022, and continued with the 1st seminar ''OSFS-Meca 2023'' on October 03, 2023. Both events were held at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Tissemsilt University, with partnership of the Applied Mechanics Laboratory (LMA) of the Faculty of Mechanics, University of Science and Technology of Oran, Mohamed Boudiaf.

The 2nd edition of the seminar ''OSFS-Meca 2024'' took place on May 30, 2024, at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Abdelhamid Ibn Badis University of Mostaganem.

The continuity with ''OSFS-Meca 2026'' aims to focus on the application of the free and open source code and software in mechanics. The conference is mainly interested in scientific work using open source codes, free software and original programs which allow users to map and solve complex problems. The main purpose of the ''OSFS-Meca 2026'' is to bring together the national community of the Open Source software, and to raise awareness among all researchers, PhD students and academics of the interest to effectively use this kind of solution.
