We arrived in Pinerolo where we were greeted by our host families. Once we were introduced to the families that we would stay with for the next 3 weeks we went our separate ways to settle into our new homes. Myself and Lorcan's family brought us out to a local pizzeria where we tried our first proper Italian Pizza.
We were settling into our new home. We never realised how far we would be away from Pinerolo which was quite daunting for us all. In the evening we met Bernie and Pricilla (Tutors from MBC) for Dinner in a restaurant in Pinerolo along with the 4 students who are staying in Pinerolo.
It was our first day at work. Myself and Lorcan were working in Osasco’s secondary school. Emily and Shannon were in Osasco’s crèche. I was teaching English alongside Franca Cutri the English teacher in the school, I really enjoy it. The schools in Italy are a lot different to Irish schools, the kids are very loud and misbehave a lot. Lorcan really enjoyed showing the Italian children our native sport, hurling and Gaelic. Emily and Shannon loved the opportunity to care for children and to take every chance they got to get a cuddle from them! After work we went into Turin for some sight seeing and shopping!
We were all finished work at 2pm and we decided to go into pinerolo to get some lunch. We wandered around looking for a restaurant that would suit all of our taste buds! We found this lovely restaurant in the middle of Pinerolo that did a mixture of burgers pizzas and pastas it was perfect!!
