Patients are referred to the fracture clinic after attending an accident and emergency department if further specialist treatment is needed. You may not have a fracture even if you are referred to the fracture clinic. The clinics are designed to assess and treat musculoskeletal injuries including fractures, sprains and other soft tissue injuries.
The knee clinic is where patients are seen on referral from a general practitioner for less urgent knee problems. Common problems seen include, pain, swelling, instability, and locking of the knee.
