A knee replacement is a common surgical procedure for severe arthritis of the knee. Modern knee replacements are quite successful. Over 90% of implanted knees will still be functioning after 10 years. An artificial knee is however not a normal knee and there are limitations as to what you are advised to do when you have recovered from your operation.
