Ingress is a territory-control game that uses smartphone location data, in which players are divided into the Blue faction (Resistance) and the Green faction (Enlightened).
It is in fact a worldwide game, enjoyed by players across the globe.
Historic sites and famous landmarks in the real world appear in the game as POIs (Points of Interest), and in that sense, it is also a walking-based app built around “going outside and exploring.”
At the same time, one of its appeals is its grand backstory, built around the concept that “the world is not what it seems.”
Players, known as Agents, act in the real world while also inhabiting a connected world online.
An anomaly is a major event that affects the branching of the in-game story.
Agents from both factions gather from across Japan and around the world, aiming for a story outcome that favors their side.
In Japan, the previous anomaly was held in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, on February 15, 2025, and the Enlightened were victorious.
This time, it will be held in Kure, Hiroshima Prefecture, on May 30, 2026.
Agents who play Ingress love good food and enjoyable experiences.
Anomalies are also an excellent opportunity for Agents to enjoy traveling and savor local cuisine.
Taking this opportunity, we in Enlightened PR hope to share the many attractions of the city of Kure.
Anomalies are world-scale events, and in Japan they have been held 15 times in the past.
