CAD Files

The original SmartRap Mini was done in some other tool set, with only the STL files being available.

As parts were printed and I realized that changes needed to be made I quickly found that simply tweeking the STL files was not going to be enough. I needed real CAD layouts to work from. As I was also learning CAD I went through a fair amount of back and forth between parts and tools. I finally settled on SolveSpace. It is powerful, accurate, easy to use, and does not require installation of mega pieces of software. I also run on Macs and Linux as well as Windows. It is also free.

This is the full package of parts, plus several optional parts that may help you. My intent here is to provide all the plastic parts necessary to build a working SmartRap Mini. Some 3rd Party parts are included, these are from Thingiverse and I include them here.

All of my CAD files are done using SolveSpace. This is a really small, but capable CAD program.

Runs on Windows, Linux and Mac, and is opensource and free to use.

Several tutorials by Eric Buijs are available on YouTube. Eric Buijs Channel

All of the SolveSpace cad files and stl files are in this zip file.

Make a folder first, like SmartRap-2018 and unzip this file into it.
