The Oral and Written Language Lab

The Oral and Written Language Lab (OWLL), directed by Dr. Tianlin Wang, is a cognitive and developmental psychology lab in the Educational Psychology & Methodology division at the University at Albany, State University of New York.

Our research explores how people learn and use language across development, from infancy through adulthood. We study how infants and young children learn from speech and other patterns in their environment, how children develop spoken and written language skills, and how adults learn new linguistic information. Our work uses a range of methods, including infant looking and listening tasks, interactive games with children, and behavioral learning experiments with adults.
