Opura is a personal shorthand practice app designed to help users create, save, revise, and practice shorthand outlines. This Privacy Policy explains how Opura handles information when you use the app.

Opura is designed as a local-first app. The app does not require you to create an account, sign in, provide your name, provide your email address, or submit personal information to use the core features of the app. Opura does not sell personal information, does not share personal information with advertisers, does not display third-party ads, and does not use user data for tracking.

When you use Opura, you may create and save shorthand entries, custom word and phrase outlines, practice passages, notes or memory hooks, review statistics, app settings, theme preferences, drawing settings, paper style preferences, and related practice data. This information is stored locally on your device only. Opura uses this locally stored information to provide app functionality, including saving your shorthand dictionary, showing your saved outlines, generating practice prompts from your saved words, supporting spaced revision, displaying your library, and restoring your settings between app sessions.

Opura does not transmit your saved shorthand entries, drawings, passages, notes, or practice data to the developer’s servers. Opura does not currently operate a user account system, cloud database, web dashboard, or remote storage service. If you choose to export a backup file from the app, that exported file may contain your saved shorthand entries, drawings, passages, notes, practice counts, and other app data. You are responsible for how you store, share, or transfer exported backup files after they leave the app.

Opura does not currently collect analytics data. Opura does not currently use third-party advertising services. Opura does not currently use third-party tracking tools. Opura does not currently use third-party analytics SDKs. Opura does not currently collect location data, contact data, photos, microphone recordings, health data, financial data, browsing history, search history, or identifiers for advertising.

Opura may use Apple system frameworks such as SwiftUI, SwiftData, PencilKit, and related iOS/iPadOS technologies to provide app functionality. These system frameworks may operate as part of the Apple platform. Your use of Apple devices and Apple services is also subject to Apple’s own privacy policies and settings.

Opura includes settings that may allow users to enable or disable reference-related features, such as Gregg shorthand reference lookup, depending on the version of the app and the content included. These features are intended to support shorthand learning and practice. Opura does not use your personal shorthand data to track you or advertise to you.

Opura is not intended to collect information from children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the developer through a support request or other communication, please contact facillium@gmail.com so the information can be deleted.

Because Opura stores user-created content locally on your device, deleting the app may delete locally stored app data unless you have exported a backup or your device/system backup preserves the data. If you want to remove your Opura data, you may delete entries inside the app, delete saved passages, reset app data where available, or delete the app from your device. If you exported a backup file, you must delete that file separately wherever you stored it.

If you contact the developer for support by email, the information you choose to include in your message, such as your email address, device details, screenshots, or description of an issue, may be used only to respond to your support request and improve the app. Support emails are not used for advertising or sold to third parties.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If the app’s data practices change, such as by adding cloud sync, accounts, analytics, crash reporting, AI-based features, or third-party services, this Privacy Policy will be updated to describe those changes. Continued use of Opura after an updated Privacy Policy is posted means you acknowledge the updated policy.
