Get ready for summer swim!
Hello OPRC families! We welcome all OP members ages 5-18 (as of May 31, 2026) to join the OP Swim Team this season. Registration is now underway! We hope your swimmers are excited for the swim season. Please take the time to read all the information provided here. The answers to many of your questions can be found on this site.
There are a few important changes for this season:
> Practice times and locations are in a ‘to be determined’ state right now due to the ongoing construction at OP. We will begin our season at Charlotte Country Day School (CCDS). This location is close to OP and offers indoor pools.
> We will stay with afternoon practices for the duration of this season. We will not switch to morning practices this year.
> We will have 5 regular season meets this year.
> The league has voted to amend the order of events. The freestyle relays will occur after the Shrimper events, and the medley relays will occur at the end of the meets.
> Timers - we now will have 2 timers per lane at meets. BOTH times will be written on the timer sheets with this new format.
> There is a new company and location for swimsuit purchase.
While some things change, this information for swim team remains the same:
Please remember that the swim team is NOT a substitute or replacement for beginning swim lessons. Your swimmers must be comfortable on their own in the water. Most practices will be in the lane section of the pool.
