Youth within the program will have the ability to work in many areas throughout various City departments. Make a minimum of $15.75/hour and learn skills for a long-term career in public services.
Job Corps offers different programs at no cost to help young people learn the skills they need to be employable and independent and place them in meaningful jobs or further education. They offer temporary housing while in the program, support with education, and career training.

This program focuses on addressing educational and employment barriers faced by justice impacted young adults. The program helps young adults develop life skills and in demand occupational skills needed to obtain livable wage jobs.
Eligibility requirements:
Between the ages of 18-24 years on the date of enrollment.
Currently or previously involved with the justice system, including alternatives to incarceration programs such as a juvenile diversion program.
Currently reside in Southeast San Diego (determined by census tract).

The second chance youth garden is an 8 week job training program where you will learn all about sustainable gardening and how to get a job! We meet every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3-5pm at 6145 Imperial Ave. 92114 and 3850 Westgate Place, 92105. Every week you will get a $50 stipend as long as you attend all the meetings. You will learn how to cook, write a resume, plant, compost and bring home free fruits and vegetables!

Goodwill San Diego’s Young Adults Program is a free customized employment service that is offered to the community. The Young Adults Program is designed to serve individuals between the ages of 16 to 25 living in low income areas of San Diego County.
