Orff Instruments

Nicky Upstairs and Down  is a great book for introducing students to the Orff instruments.   Students 'walk' up their instruments whenever Nicky goes upstairs and 'walk' down their instruments when Nicky goes downstairs.    Check out Kristin Lukow's video of her grade 2 class doing the book.     

 A song that goes nicely with the story is Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty .   The music is below.  Transpose the song to C.  Students can play "Little ball of Fur" on their instruments.
