Think of a computer that keeps all your child's school papers, like grades and attendance, in one place. That's a Student Information System. The system keeps your child's information private and secure. Parents can log in to the system to see important information about their child’s education. You will only be able to access your child’s information. You will not be able to access any other child’s information.

What Information is in an SIS?
Personal information: Your child's name, address, date of birth, and contact information.
Attendance records: Information about your child's attendance, including absences and tardies.
Class schedules: You can view your child’s daily schedule, a list of subjects, and teacher’s names.
Grades and report cards: Your child's grades, test scores, and report cards. Some schools no longer send paper report cards and ask parents to check grades online.
Assignments and homework: Information about assignments, due dates, and grades. You can also find this in the Learning Management Platform.
Discipline records: Information about any disciplinary actions.
Medical information: Information about allergies, medical conditions, and immunizations.
Contact information: Parent/guardian contact information.
School communication: some systems allow teachers to send messages to parents.
Parental Access:
Schools will provide you with login information to access the SIS. You can also access the SIS from the school website. If you have trouble logging in, don't hesitate to ask the school for help.
Some systems may have translation options.

Remember to give teachers enough time to post the grades after a quiz or test. Some assignments, like term papers, take longer to grade.
