WEEK 1. Self learning units. The self learning units for the first two weeks will be based largely in the MOOC developed by Deakin University

This module provides an overview of what an IUCN Red List Ecosystem assessment is and how to transform raw data into an assessment. The sections of this first week of MOOC are::

This module covers all aspects of the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria and how to use this methodology to assess the risk of ecosystems to collapse . This module is composed of the following independent sessions:

Case study: the Victorian Mountain Ash Forest, Australia
Case study: Tidal flats of the Yellow Sea, East Asia

WEEK 2- Convening session 4th of November 11:00-13:00 Fiji time. Includes one webinar, group discussion and group exercise
WEEK 3: Self learning units.
This module covers presentation of results, understanding the overall assessment. This module will also provide insights into potential application of results to RLE to conservation priorities or management practices, and will explain the necesary steps to get the RLE published.

WEEK 4: Self learning units.
These module will allow concrete practice into participants own ecosystems. During this last week the participants will be asked to design an assessment of a particular ecosystem. This final module will incorporate the evaluation /certification module
