INTRODUCTION
The Five Elders are a council of the five highest-ranking Celestial Dragons: the "Highest Authorities of the World Government". They are believed to hold the greatest authority over the world at large, although they are secretly subordinate to the government's shadow ruler Imu, who occupies the Empty Throne.
The Five Elders' political sway over the World Government, its subsidiary organizations, agencies, and military branches is paramount and near-illimitable, including absolute command over Cipher Pol, the Marines, and (prior to their disbandment) the Seven Warlords of the Sea, thus controlling two of the Three Great Powers. As of now, it is unknown how the Elders acquired their positions and how long they have been in power, but they are almost always found residing in the Room of Authority in Pangaea Castle.
Due to their status, longstanding actions both indirect and direct, and their profound plot involvement, the Five Elders are among the main antagonists in the Final Saga and of the One Piece series as a whole, while also being the main antagonists in the Egghead Arc. The Elders first appear during the Jaya Arc and are officially named during the Egghead Arc
Despite being Celestial Dragons, none of the Five Elders wore the full-body white suit that their lower-ranking brethren wear. Also, none of them have been seen wearing the bubble or glass case over their heads to separate their air supply from other people, even when seen outside of Mary Geoise. They are all rather tall, comparable in height to the over 10 feet tall Sakazuki. It would appear that none of them has physically changed in appearance over the course of twenty-two years (from the destruction of Ohara to current times). Jaygarcia Saturn is shown to look the same as he did thirty-eight years ago.
Their primary concerns are protecting an unstable world from the influence of piracy and maintaining the public image of the World Government, going to great lengths to keep their oppressive reputation a secret from the public. They have ordered the killing of an entire island of people to hide the discovery of the Void Century through the deciphering of Poneglyphs. They have hidden the fact that Gecko Moria was beaten by Monkey D. Luffy and later ordered his silent assassination to make it look like he died in the war for a better image, and they have kept the escape of Level 6 inmates of Impel Down a secret, a decision that even angered Sengoku, the then-fleet admiral of the Marines. They are extremists who will sacrifice a countless number of innocent people for the sake of maintaining the World Government's political power and authority and even turn a blind eye to political corruption such as the atrocities of Warlords of the Sea Sir Crocodile and Donquixote Doflamingo, and when it should ever be exposed, they will simply give the Marines credit through falsified propaganda.
Each of the Five Elders is in charge of particular area of politics and hold the title Warrior God.
( based on the Japanese yōkai, Ushi-Oni )
Saint Jaygarcia Saturn is one of the Five Elders who publicly head the World Government and a scientist by trade, possessing the title Warrior God of Science and Defense.
Saturn appears to have eaten a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that enables him to turn into a cross between a spider and a bull. In this form, Saturns gain incredible durability as he is completely unfazed from Sabo's Hiken attack. He also can cause a person's head to explode with a glance. The smokey clouds around his body suggests he has managed to achieve task of Awakening. However, his abilities has proven to be inferior to Luffy's own awakening powers as his eye attack didn't do anything on Luffy.
In his beast form, Saturn turned into a giant horned spider. His legs are filled with the venom. According to Sanji, Saturn finally gives up his pretense of being human. However, his attacks are too heavy when Luffy easily dodged his attack while his size is being too big and slow against his enemies who has any source of speed. His attacks still too slow against Luffy (while in Giant Form) due to his Observation Haki. He can spit explosive venom but it can be reflected back at Saturn when Luffy baseballed the explosive venom towards Saturn, Warcury and Ju Peter.
( based on the 1965 novel Dune's "Sand Wyrm" )
Saint Shepherd Ju Peter is one of the Five Elders who publicly head the World Government, holding the title Warrior God of Agriculture.
Saturn performs the summoning of Ju Peter and the other three elders to appear on the island. Ju Peter appears on the island in his Sandworm form while the other elders appear in their other forms to face Luffy. As Mars and Nusjuro take care of other problems on the island, Ju Peter, Saturn, and Warcury confronts Luffy. Ju Peter tries to eat Luffy but his head was cut off by Dorry and Brogy to free Luffy. Despite having his head cut off and sustaining additional damage from Saturn's venom explosion attack when Luffy hits Saturn's attack back to the elders, Ju Peter and the other elders begin to regenerate and heal from the damages they sustained immediately.
His Zoan-type transformation is the only one that doesn't appear to based on any existing yōkai from Japanese folklore or mythology but instead draws inspiration from the Sandworms from Dune. It is also possible that it could inspired by other alleged worm-like creatures, such as the Mongolian death worm.

Saint Marcus Mars is one of the main antagonists of the One Piece anime and manga series. He is one of the Five Elders who is a high-ranking figure within the World Government. He is known by the title as the Warrior God of Environment and he is a high-ranking Celestial Dragon.
Coming over to the strength of Saint Marcus Mars, fans already know that he possesses a Devil Fruit. This reveal was made in one piece chapter 1085 when Sabo attacked the Five Elders and Imu along with them. Shortly after the attack, the Five Elders emerged from the flames unscathed and it was clear to see that they had taken their Devil Fruit forms. From the looks of it, every single member of the Gorosei have Zoan type Devil Fruits and, given that Mythical Zoan is the rarest and the most special class among the Zoans, they are all likely users of Mythical Zoan Devil Fruits. The fans only got to see their silhouettes, and while some of them are easy to figure out, others can be a bit more challenging. Thankfully, Saint Marcus Mars is one of the easier ones to figure out. His Zoan-type transformation is based on the yōkai, Itsumade, a monstrous bird with the body of a snake that appears during disastrous situations.
( based on the Japanese yōkai, Bakotsu )
Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro is one of the main antagonists of One Piece. He is one of the Five Elders and one of the highest ranking authority figures within the World Government. He is also a high-ranking Celestial Dragon. Nusjuro serves as the Warrior God of Finance within the World Government.
His Zoan-type transformation is based on the yōkai, Bakotsu, a very obscure creature with the appearance of a ghoulish-looking horse that was burned in a fire.
He has what could be considered to be one of the most prized swords in the One Piece world and, that is, the Shodai Kitetsu. It is the very first Kitetsu blade to have ever been made and ranks among the 12 Supreme Grade swords. The Shodai Kitetsu carries the same curse as all other Kitetsu blades and brings a terrible death to its wielder, only stronger. However, the fact that V. Nusjuro wields it means that he has bent the sword to his will.
( based on the Fengxi/Houki, a boar-like creature from Chinese mythology )
Saint Topman Warcury is one of the main antagonists of the One Piece anime and manga series. He is one of the Five Elders and a high-ranking Celestial Dragon. He has a lot of power and influence within the World Government. Warcury serves as the Warrior God of Justice within the World Government.
Warcury acquired the power of a Mythical Zoan-type Fengxi/Hōki Devil Fruit that allows him to transform into a Fengxi and a human-Fengxi hybrid at will. In his Full Beast form he resembles a boar demon with four tusks. Warcury appears to have "awakened" this ability, as indicated by the ribbon of dark, flaming smoke around his shoulders and torso when he is transformed. In this form, he could withstand a point-blank blast of fire from Sabo without difficulty.
In his Full Beast form, Warcury can convert his tusks into massive blades, and move with surprising nimbleness by somersaulting his enormous body through the air to slam his bladed tusks into his targets. He is also capable of roaring with massive force. Luffy has noted that Warcury's Full Beast form has tremendously hard skin, right after hurting himself by trying to punch him with Gomu Gomu no Red Roc (in comparison, Luffy was able to bypass Kaidou's defenses with this same technique).
