My name is Omar Gomez, and I can say that taking this class with the one and only Prof Mcguire was a true privilege. Even though this was a writing class, it felt like a hybrid of a art class too. We talked about how photography has many more layers then taking a selfie and posting it on the internet. I have also learned that a picture can show many things that we treasure deeply. You also tasked us with finding someone in our life that we had to unfamiliarize and show them to others. We had to show a special one to other people that had no idea who that person was and why they where special. We then not only had to unfamiliarize a person, but a place. I think this paper was still the hardest one out off all of them. I knew what to do but it was poorly executed and didn't fit for what i saw. I even tried revising it but yet i could't live up to what i had in mind. Then, my favorite project was writing about a hate group but having that one person break out of it. I loved this one more because for once we didn't have to write about ourselves again and again. The lastly was the video we did which i thought was fine but not a lot of people did. It was a bit hard to find someone with the conditions we looked for and agree to do a interview with us. However, we tried with what we had. That wasn't our last assignment, it was this, our portfolio. I found this one to be a little tough then the usual because with some of my papers nothing seemed wrong to stand out, but you still had to edit. I did like going back to my pieces and seeing the things i used to write. I think to myself how and why did i think that was a good idea. Despite everything i still enjoyed my time here and thank you Prof Mcguire.
