Re: Olympic Village School Situation

I am writing you regarding the school situation for students living in Olympic Village. Students and their families are suffering due to the lack space at Simon Fraser Elementary, our catchment school, and the lack of an accessible school for our community.

Catchment changes will not solve this problem. There will still not be a school within a walkable distance for our young learners.

We appreciate that the Olympic Village School is a priority in the Long Range Facilities Plan but even once the school is approved it will not address the problem for years to come.

Please support our community and by the 2020-2021 school year create cohorts of Olympic Village students AND provide them with transportation to a “remote” school location. This will help our students and the families in our community as we patiently await our new school.
