You can play a big part in helping communicate council business, initiatives and fundraising tasks to our teachers and other parents. Our goal is have one or two adult representatives from every K-9 class or homeroom. Our vision is for two families to share the following duties:
Alternate council meeting attendance
Deliver information from the council to the families in your class and vice versa
Coordinate your class contributions to the annual silent auction (TBA)
Be a voice for the class on issues related to spending, Healthy Hunger lunch orders, etc.
ALL parents are welcome to join us at council meetings! This helps our teachers feel supported and helps parents and caregivers build community with each other, which filters down to our kids.
Sometimes we even have babysitting available. Right now we're meeting on Teams (depending on COVID stats we will also meet in the library). We're all busy, and we all want our school to be the best school it can be...so let's help each other out.
With ever changing COVID restrictions, we may or may not get to volunteer in the school with the kids. There is plenty we can do and decide from home to impact student achievement.
