I attended Harvard Model UN in the winter of 2023 and this was my first conference with international delegates. I was in a double delegate general assembly discussing cyber-warfare with a focus on Armenia. The conference offered great experience with interactions formally and informally and it was a main conference that truly got me excited to continue Model UN. I also attended Harvard Model UN in the winter of 2024 where I was in a double delegate committee focusing on the Western Sahara Conflict. My delegation focused on Tanzania's perspective. This committee was one of the most interesting I have been in because it helped me gain more knowledge of the region and the workings behing decolonization issues.
I attended Ivy League Model UN in the winter of 2025 where I represented Greece and their position on Nonproliferation of Nuclear Weapons. This was another very interesting committee because it could have gone in two different directions. One being environmental struggles with Nuclear energy and waste and the other being the political aspect of nuclear arms. The committee ended up focusing more on the political side, but I had initially signed up for this committee to apply what I was learning in my environmental science class. Although we did not discuss the environmental factors as much I feel like I gained a lot from learning something different than what I went into the conference anticipating.
Yale Model UN is the conference I will be attending in the winter of 2026. I still have not chosen a committee and will be excited to try out a new conference for my final year!
This conference was the first ever student run Model UN conference at my school: Academy of Notre Dame De Namur. This conference occurred in the fall of 2024 and was put together by the student leadership team for mModel UN. I was part of this team and I worked to run the International Criminal Court (ICC) Committee. In this I got to conduct research and find fun ways to run the committee room. This experience helped feel both the pressure and reward so many chair members have felt when I was a delegate and overall gave me a new perspective on how Model UN is run.
This was my first conference which I traveled internationally for with my Model UN team. I was in a double delegation security council with a focus on de-escalating conflicts in the middle east. I found this conference interesting because Model UN is run differently in Europe. This was was hard to get used to but I enjoyed it more than the how Model UN is run in the united states. I felt it was more collaborative and ran topics faster which led everyone to be engaged often. This conference was also interesting to learn more about how people view conflict and different ideas to de-escalating conflict.
This is the second student run confernce my school is hosting and this year I was on the committe for NDMUNII which deals directly with school communication, organization, and research for all things related to the conference. This is in addition to my role as a senior Model UN leader which required involvement through the summer. For this conference I will be chairing the Papal Conclave crisis committee. I loved to research this topic and to be creative in coming up with characters, conflicts, and plot twists. This committee is different from anything I have ever done in Model UN and I am excited to see how it will go!
