Stream-of-consciousness scribbles in crayons and colour pencils. During this period of great angst, I used text alongisde most drawings to express any thoughts that came to mind and lingered or recurred. For this series (and works that come after it), no preliminary sketches are made, and all marks remain permanent as to not filter, but preserve the rawness of thoughts. Since I tend to work with minimal colour, Crayon Confessionals pushed me to experiment with having a reliance on colour, excluding the use of black completely.

Handmade paper created using receipts, red packets, wrapping paper and shopping bags. The materials represent the scale of my compulsive buying that I resort to when I encounter stress. While spending money makes for good temporary relief, I've become entrapped by my habit of seeking comfort in it.Â
