Group Lessons

Group Lessons are suitable for children and adults and are the most popular session type for the regular weekly rider. A group lesson is typically scheduled for a 1 hour session. Depending on the session type the group will range between 2-8 riders. A groups riders are arranged to be of similar ability to allow them to work and progress together.  Ranging from on the lead rein, independent at walk and trot, competent at walk trot and canter, beginning / established lateral work, beginning / established Jumping seats etc etc.

Lessons typically take place in either our indoor arena or outdoor school. When conditions allow these sessions may head into the fields for cross country or dressage training.  During good weather the group may choose to be taken hacking, which is all part of developing their confidence in the saddle and developing ridden experience, in different situations. We dont allow jump training to begin until the instructor is satisfied the student has a sufficiently balanced and effective seat, showing adequate control of their own bodies aswell as suitable soft control of the horses actions.

Private Lessons

Private 1 to 1 sessions are more intensive for the rider and can be booked for 30min or 45min sessions, depending on availability. These can also be used as an assessment session to assess a new rider prior to finding them a suitable group session of similar ability. Private lessons slots are also useful to target a specific problem or objective such as regaining lost confidence or correcting a specific rider issue or bad habit.
