Your Support Makes The Difference
The Montgomery County Historical Society (MCHS) was founded in 1904 to preserve and promote Mohawk Valley history. This vision continues to shape our programs, exhibits and activities.
We are a private, not-for-profit local organization. Although our largest artifact, the 1749 home of Sir William Johnson, is listed as a National Historic Landmark, we do not receive any federal, state or local funding for operations.
We rely on your membership dollars and donations to preserve Old Fort Johnson as a vital cultural and historical destination.
Planned giving is another way to support our work. A charitable bequest of cash, insurance, or other assets in your estate can leave a meaningful legacy to build the future of Old Fort Johnson. Gifts of appreciated securities can also be a tax-wise way to support our work. Contact us for more information about Planned Giving options.
