Memory, Repair, and Care
Inspired by the work of poet Victoria Guerrero and artist Nereida Apaza, this workshop explores embroidery as a practice of care, memory, and resistance.
Through thread and gesture, participants will engage in collective making as a way of tending to personal and shared histories.
No prior experience needed—just a willingness to slow down, stitch, and listen.

Madres Buscadoras: Practicing Care and Searching for Truth
with Miguel Moctezuma [Co-director of Found], Guillermina Camacho [Mama buscadora de la organización mexicana ‘Siguiendo tus huellas con amor’], and Yolanda Melo [Mama buscadora de la organización colombiano ‘Fundación Yovany Quevedo: Lazos de Vida’]
Found is the organisation that Miguel works for and co-directs. They specialise in developing technologies to locate missing people and clandestine graves in Mexico and Colombia. He works with various organizations and collectives of family members, primarily mothers, who search for their disappeared loved ones. Miguel will contextualise the work that Found does, but two mothers of disappeared sons, Guillermina and Yolanda, will be the keynote speakers who introduce what it means to care for the disappeared. They will discuss the ethics of care, memory and dignity, and how they incorporate these practices into their everyday lives and struggles against different forms of violence.
