Mio Okuyama, L.Ac. is a member of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM), licensed to perform both acupuncture and massage in New York State.
She holds a Master's Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (renamed the Pacific College of Health and Science). For 17 years, she has worked as an acupuncturist in Midtown (E39th St and E55th St) and West Village (25 Charles St), Manhattan, New York.
Before coming to the USA, Mrs. Okuyama graduated from Kokugakuin University in Japan, and studied abroad at Beijing Communication University in China. She can communicate in Chinese, English and Japanese.
In 2019, she contributed her services as an acupuncturist backstage at the SHED for “Dragon Spring Phoenix Rise,” a performance directed by Chen Shi-Zheng.
