産業用ロボットは，自動化により有限の資源である時間を生み出し，様々なリスクから自分の人生を切りはなすことで，人類の幸せに貢献するものである．本研究室は，産業現場の問題に寄り添い，そもそも何がどうなっていれば良いのか，原理原則に立ち返って，真の課題の発見，課題の困難性の定式化，その解法の導出というステップで研究開発に取り組んでいる．具体的には，ロボットの新しい価値基準と評価指標の創成，システムインテグレーションの学理，これらを含めてロボット学上の古典的難題を研究テーマとしている．
Industrial robots contribute to the happiness of mankind by generating time, which is a finite resource, through automation and by separating one's life from various risks. This laboratory approaches problems in the industrial field by going back to the principle of what should be done in the first place, discovering the true problem, formulating the difficulty of the problem, and deriving the solution. Specifically, our research themes are the creation of new value criteria and evaluation indices for robots, the science of system integration, and classical difficulties in robotics.
