WP1 – Boosting EMU’s scientific excellence in One Health

Objectives
• Transferring One Health knowledge from UH and UniMi to EMU (and UT) based on their expertise areas in the form of short interactive training sessions and longer training cycles at the top-performing universities.
• Organizing expert and study visits to UH and UniMi to plan research infrastructure upgrades at EMU/UT.
• Organizing workshops for laying out further One Health research plans, focusing on the partners’ synergies
WP2 – Conducting exploratory research in One Health

Objectives
• Establishing circulating and fecal EV concentrations, transcriptomic and proteomic profiles and APP associated with EVs in lambs in first 4 months of life and establish their relation with intestinal microbiota and weight gain.
• Measuring the transcriptomic responses of a 3D intestine culture system to different BEV in the presence and absence of colostrum and milk EVs.
• Analyzing results and translating the results into joint publications.
WP3 – Increasing EMU’s research and innovation capacities and
administrative skills

Objectives
• Strengthening EMU’s research and innovation management and administrative skills in the form of physical and virtual trainings, job shadowing visits and expert consultations, utilizing the best practices of UH and UniMi.
• Analyzing the learnings of the research management trainings through internal EMU workshops and coming up with an action plan for introducing changes and new procedures.
WP4 – Supporting the next generation of excellent researchers

Objectives
• Improving the quality of One Health related PhD training at EMU, tapping into synergies with UT.
• Offering PhD supervision and academic writing mentorship for early-stage researchers at EMU and UT.
• Organizing student exchange opportunities for EMU and UT students to attract and develop young researchers.
• Organizing summer research schools with networking opportunities.
WP5 – Communication, dissemination and exploitation
Leader: University of Milan
Co-leader: EMU
Objectives
• Raising awareness of the project, its activities, One Health topics, benefits and impacts to wider audiences through various communication activities.
• Disseminating the results of the project, focusing on the research activities (WP2), among the international academic/ science community, thus increasing the visibility of project research and researchers.
• Supporting the sustainability of the project results through exploitation efforts aimed at the post-project period, both among the consortium as well as to academic, industry and public sector stakeholders.
WP6 – Project management
Leader: EMU
Objectives
• Building up and maintaining solid management and internal communication structures that support the daily activities of the project; ensuring smooth work processes, carrying out all activities, and delivering all proposed results according
to the expected timeframe, budget, and quality.
• Delivering all contractual progress and final reports foreseen by the EC, coordinating overall financial, administrative, contractual, and legal issues; monitoring progress for identifying any potential problems and mitigating the risks accordingly, addressing issues of ethics, knowledge, and data management.
