Our PTA board has voted to support the Wake County Bond and strongly oppose the two tax amendments on the ballot this election cycle!

Against the Constitutional Amendments
These amendments may sound like tax cuts, but they will hurt our public schools & public services by limiting Wake County’s ability to raise revenue to adequately fund our school! Local governments across North Carolina would lose out on $950,000,000!
If they pass it could mean losing teachers, bus routes and drivers, SPED funding etc!
We support the Wake County School Bond. Many WCPSS facilities are aging and must be addressed before they become emergencies. This bond is one of the most cost fiscally responsible solutions for our county. If passed, Oak Grove Elementary will be set to receive a new HVAC and security upgrades.

Carpool Safety Petition
Our VP of Advocacy, Meena Statz, recently spoke at a WCPSS School board meeting regarding improved carpool traffic. We're continuing the push for carpool safety with our petition to reduce the school zone speed limit to 25 mph and fighting for Oak Grove to have our own School Resource Officer to help direct traffic. The petition will remain open until December 31. We'd appreciate your support by signing and sharing the link! The more signatures, the better the outcome of keeping our Otters safe during arrival and dismissal.
Oak Grove Elementary Advocacy hosted Senator Jay Chaudhuri for National School Lunch Week.
Senator Chaudhuri's visit highlights the importance of the School Meals for All NC program and child nutrition. Our 5th Grade Student Ambassadors gave Senator Chaudhuri a tour of campus and enjoyed a delicious school meal together.
