For this project, I explored how social media impacts myself and society as a whole.

After taking the "Am I ADDICTED to Social Media?" Quiz, I realized I do use social media more than I should.
I do think I need to rethink my social media habits and how much time I spend scrolling because there are definitely better ways that I could be spending my time instead of just wasting it away looking at things I'll forget in the next hour or so.
Here are two statistics from Pew Research Center that I found interesting on AI use by teens.
I found these interesting because it just goes to show how much AI is a part of the lives of these younger generations and how it will most likely continue to be as we move forward, given that these numbers are on par with that of social media statistics.
AI has really only been mainstream since around 2023, since anything before really didn't have any applications for us normal people.
These charts show how AI is becoming a part of online behavior, just like social media.
I think social media has impacted society in a negative waya because people are always comparing themselves to things that aren't even real. It also spreads information really fast, so it's hard to tell what's true sometimes. A lot of people spend too much time on it instead of actually talking to people in real life. It can also lead to cyberbullying since people feel much more comfortable hiding behind a screen. Overall, I think it creates a lot of pressure and negativity especially in the younger generations.
From this project, I realized how much social media actually influences what we think and do. I learned that AI and algorithms control a lot of what shows up on our feeds. It also made me understand that not everything online is reliable. Mostly, it made me more aware of how I use social media.
