Due to unforeseen circumstances Math Field Day 2024 has been cancelled. We look forward to celebrating you in 2025.

Math Field Day is a celebration of mathematics that provides teams an opportunity to compete in an environment that fosters creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. The format will look different this year with a focus on problem solving. Activities that focus on the standards for mathematical practice will be designed around four major strands:

Our vision is to not only promote mathematical excellence but also to cultivate well-rounded individuals who are equipped with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly interconnected and dynamic world.

Grade-level teams of four will compete in four breakout sessions throughout the morning, and have an opportunity to participate in our new construction task in randomized groups with students from other schools. There will be the opportunity to order lunch from our food truck before the awards ceremony in the afternoon.

The top teams for each grade level for each category will be recognized with Math Field Day medals. All participants receive "goodie bags" of prizes from community donations. Through 2024, the Orange County Math Council has sponsored Math Field Day for 30 years.

You must be affiliated with a school site to register your team and all team registrations are non-refundable. Please make sure that at least one coach from your school site is a registered member of OCMC ($10 registration add-on available with ticket purchase).
