What is the Calibration Set (CS)?
- Various obsidian specimen sets with accurately determined whole-rock compositions are essential for conducting precise quantitative analyses of geological and archaeological obsidian using EDXRF and pXRF.
- We have currently designated 38 obsidian and one glassy andesite (Sanukite) samples as the Calibration Set (CS), which can be used to create calibration curves for quantitative analysis and to calibrate quantitative data obtained through EDXRF and pXRF analyses across different laboratories.
- Our goal is to certify these samples as "Standard Materials". We are conducting WDXRF and ICP-MS analyses at multiple laboratories to achieve this.
- We have three copies of the Calibration Set.
