The event is fully booked
You can sign up for the waiting list by filling in the form:
It takes about 10 min. to complete the form.
The form asks you to upload a recognisable photo of yourself for the Book of Characters (who-is-who). These photos will only be shared with other participants. You can also email us a photo.
You must be at least 18 years old by September 2, 2025.

Your sign-up form will be used in our matching process.
If you secure a spot, we will send you a confirmation email
that includes payment details and the payment deadline.
You will also receive the player list for 'player review'.
Confirmation emails will be sent out on September 28*)

Being a Sponsor means you pay more than your share of the costs,
allowing us to create a subsidised spot for someone who otherwise couldn't afford to attend.
Subsidised means that for every sponsor we get, we can create a subsidised spot.
There will be a lottery for subsidised spots.
*Including € 15 admin costs for paying in installments.
This is a non-profit event. Your fee pays for the costs we have to make and includes:
3 nights in a 2 to 5-person bedroom
2 x luxurious breakfast buffet and 1x simple professional breakfast, by a professional caterer
2 x luxurious lunch buffet by a professional caterer
A three-course dinner, a two-course dinner and a simple arrival day dinner by a professional caterer
Non-alcoholic drinks (coffee, several kinds of tea and several flavours of cordial)
Exclusive rental of the castle, chapel and grounds
Printing & props, including an entire graveyard
Included volunteer work at no cost:
Character brief of 30-40 pages made-to measure based on player preferences
Hundreds of pages of storylines
Beautifully illustrated Design Document
Creation of props & printwork
An 8-person crew that will run the event, serve food & drinks and handle general tasks
Consultations with the organisers
Administration
Workshops
Photography
You can pay in one or three installments*).
At sign-up you can specify if you prefer to pay by bank transfer or by PayPal**).
If you secure a spot, we will send you the payment details and payment deadline in your confirmation email.
We urge you to pay your fee as soon as possible after receiving your confirmation email.
If you do not pay on time, you will lose your spot.
Please take into account that international bank transfers can take several days.

**) Please note that using PayPal will incur an additional fee to cover PayPal's admin cost of €6 to €25 per transaction,
depending on the specific fee and the number of installments.

Players will be matched to the 54 characters based on their player preferences.
We will also consider a balance of gender, nationality and player experience.
(We can't provide play for 30 noble ladies or 25 Catholic priests.)
To ensure fairness, each sign-up form will be assigned a unique number,
and the matching will be done without referencing names or photos.
This blind selection process aims to provide everyone with an equal opportunity to secure a spot.
Your out-of-character age group is only used to match in-character relationships
that all parties feel comfortable with out of character. Any age can play any character.
Players will have the opportunity to review the player list.
Based on the list, you can inform us if there is anyone you prefer NOT to play in close contact with for any reason
(e.g., because it's your ex, your colleague, or your best friend etc.).
Additionally, if you believe there is someone on the list who should NOT attend this type of mature event
due to past incidents in your country, please let us know.
Note: We will conduct one round of player list review after all sign-ups are closed.

In case of cancellation by the participant before June 1st, 2025,
fees will be returned to you minus € 75 administration costs,
provided we find someone to fill your spot who is able to pay for it**.
In the case of a sponsor fee, an additional deduction of € 150 will be applied.
This is because € 150 has been directly allocated to create a subsidised player spot.
If a participant pays in installments and cancels before all installments are paid,
the first installment is non-refundable.
In all other cases, no fees will be refunded.
You can not sell your player spot yourself
The price is for a sign up fee, not a ticket, so you can not sell your spot to someone else.
This is because they are matched and assigned.
It’s up to Obscurus to decide what happens with your character in case of cancellation.
