Text & information accessibility
Attending The Baron of Belgrave Square means you'll receive a lot of reading materials,
including a 30-40 page character brief, a comprehensive design document with history, religion, etiquette,
and various play suggestions.
Also, some characters receive several other materials like masses, play scripts, letters, and newspapers.
To make information more accessible during the event, a few measures are in place:
Summaries
Your character brief will include a 1-page summary with everything you need to know.
Additionally, the design document will be summarised on 2 A4 pages,
highlighting the essential rules and facts to know by heart.
Name tags
Out-of-character name tags will display the correct way to address each person,
with a magnet to avoid damaging clothes.
Easy-to-read documents
All in-character documents, which may have fancy or handwritten fonts,
will also be available in an easy-to-read format on a laptop in the off-play area,
where you can also find character briefs and other helpful documents.
Reading from paper while performing
Actors, clergy and other characters can read from paper during performances,
and all necessary texts will be provided in easy-to-read print, including booklets
for mass & prayers to help everyone follow along.

Bedrooms
There are simple hostel-style bedrooms for 2 to 5 persons.
All beds are single beds. A few rooms have bunk beds.
Floors, walls and windows are in a beautiful old style; however, the beds and some of the closets are modern.
We encourage players to bring some items, such as a bedspread or white sheets, to hide the modern bed so your bedroom looks fully in-character.
Hot showers are available.
Sleeping in-character
You will share a room with either your in-character spouse, in-character group or characters of similar class. Sleeping in-character also provides the opportunity to wander at night to the graveyard, sneak into each other's bedrooms or have midnight meetings with a secret occult society.
Night rest
No nightly activities will be scheduled between 0.00 and 8.00.
If you want to go to bed earlier, you can hang a "Do not Disturb" sign on your bedroom door.
There will be a pre-play scene with your roommates so you can coordinate rest and use of the bedroom together.
Breakfast
There will be a luxurious breakfast buffet on Wednesday and Thursday
consisting of several kinds of bread, cheese, cold cuts, jam,
eggs, sausages, beans,
fresh fruit, yogurt, vegetables,
croissants, chocolate croissants, and coffee pastries.
Breakfast on Friday will be simple and will consist of several sandwiches and various toppings.
Lunch
There will be a luxurious lunch buffet on Wednesday and Thursday
featuring bread rolls, wraps, and mini sandwiches,
along with pasta or couscous salad,
fresh fruit, and English fruitcake or muffins.
Dinner
On Tuesday there will be a one-course dinner
that will also be a rehearsal dinner to practice with serving and etiquette for Wednesday night.
On Wednesday there will be a luxurious served three-course dinner for the full Victorian experience.
Thursday dinner will be a buffet consisting of a fancy stew and a sweet dessert,
to ensure enough playtime after dinner until time out.
Note: The menu options mentioned above are examples and may still change to similar types of food.
We will do our best to accommodate various allergies but cannot guarantee that every type of diet will be catered to.
A professional caterer has been hired for all meals and can accommodate most allergies.
Please be as clear as possible about your dietary needs at signup.
If there is any doubt about our ability to cater to your needs,
we will inform you in advance so you can bring your own food.
Several kinds of tea, coffee, water and different flavour cordials will be available and are included in your fee.
At breakfast there will also be two kinds of fruit juice. We will not serve alcohol.
Want to drink something else? Please bring it yourself (optional).
Please also note our alcohol policy below.
You can only smoke at a dedicated area, outside the terrain.
This way participants with asthma can also enjoy being outside without risking an asthma attack.
We don’t serve alcohol. Consuming your own alcoholic beverages is not forbidden,
but strongly discouraged due to the nature of the event.
If the organisers determine that a participant is too intoxicated to safely attend the event,
they have the right to ask that person to leave.
