Showcase Procedures
Checking In & Out:
As always, the safety of our dancers is our #1 priority. We will have ALL dancers check-in/check-out at the Backstage door. Dancers will remain with our staff for the duration of the show, and you will meet them at the backstage entrance for Check-Out when their final show is finished!
Park in the main lot and follow your provided map instructions to the auditorium and backstage entrance.
Please arrive at least 20 minutes prior to showtime and NO MORE than 35. We run the shows back to back and our staff will not be ready for each group of performers more than 30 minutes prior.
Please arrive fully ready, with your hair and makeup done and first costume on. If your dancer is in multiple dances, please refer to the show order and have them ready for their first dance.
ALL students (yes even teenagers!) are to check in and have their name signed off when they arrive at the venue. If your child has any medical conditions that may require attention whilst in our care, please notify our supervisors when you sign in. All medication (EPI Pens, Inahlers, etc) should be clearly labeled and given to our supervisors.
Dancers will have the opportunity to pose in front of our photo wall at drop-off!
After your dancer's final show, please meet them at the backstage entrance to sign them out. All dancers must be signed out by a Parent/Guardian.
This process does take a few minutes and we very much appreciate your patience, especially at pick- up while we confirm that dancers are picked up by their rightful guardian.
Company Dancers ONLY:
Your call time will be 10:15 am. Please be on time and ready to go inside at 10:15am! We have limited time to prep in the venue. We will do walkthroughs of new routines onstage before you change into your first costume.
Please arrive in FULL hair and makeup for your first dance.
After check in, you will stay at the theater until check-out at the end of the last show
Food And Drink:
Absolutely no food is permitted backstage or in the dressing rooms. The only thing dancers should have is a water bottle labeled with their name on it.
There WILL be a designated area where food is allowed, and we will provide snacks for dancers, This is the only area food and drink will be permitted - PLEASE do not bring any food into your dressing rooms.
Company Dancers will be provided a lunch in between shows
What to Bring:
All dancers must bring a clearly labeled bag with their essential items.
- Dance shoes, water bottle, extra hair spray, hair elastics, and bobby pins are recommended.
- Please ensure any medication required is packed and clearly labelled with instructions.
Please make sure to clearly label your dance shoes, tights, accessories and dance undergarments.
- If you are only performing one routine, wear your costume to the theater!
- If you are in more than one dance, arrive ready for your 1st routine, and remember to bring all additional costumes! These are best hung on hangers and protected in a costume bag that is clearly labeled to make quick changes easy.
Make sure EVERYTHING has your name on it! Often belongings get left behind. This will make it easier for our staff to return any lost items!
Company Dancers ONLY:
You will need to wear nude dance undergarments under all costumes and during all quick changes.
We HIGHLY suggest bringing a laundry basket to drop all used costumes in. This will make it easier for you to collect belongings at the end of the show and your dancer will have ease and speed of changing costumes when they don’t have to worry about hanging used garments. For extra convenience, consider labeling this basket with the name and/or photo of your child in case our backstage assistants do not know the names of all children.
If you have a portable costume rack, please bring it as hanging space is quite limited.
You may bring some snacks to keep in the designated food area. Lunch will be provided for you!
Video & Photography:
With considerable thought to copyright and child safety laws, video recording is strictly prohibited. We have employed a professional Videographer to capture these memories for you!
You will have the option to purchase the performance via digital download prior to the show.
We know it is tempting to capture these moments yourself, but we invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy the show in the moment, while knowing your memories are being preserved for you. If you would like to take photos, we encourage you to do so before dropping your child off or after the show!
Please be considerate of your fellow audience members and treat our dancers with the respect that they deserve during their performance. This is a great opportunity to review audience etiquette with our younger audience members. Please silence your cellphones, keep talking to a minimum, limit movement during routines and clap for all dancers!
We thank you in advance for adhering to these policies, and advising your guests to do the same, as it is our ultimate goal to know exactly who is filming your children and only wish for those with good intentions to be in possession of this footage. This policy ensures that only currently registered accounts and participants have access to this precious footage.
