Troubleshooting Screen Sharing Via Zoom with your iPad

If you tap Trust or Don't Trust but doesn't accept your answer, or if the Trust alert won't appear, follow these steps. Try again after each:

  1. Make sure that your computer has the latest version of macOS or the latest version of iTunes.

  2. Disconnect and reconnect your device from your computer.

  3. Restart your computer.

  4. Restart your device:

  5. Reset your Trust settings.

If the above steps don't help, go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you’ve used before.

AirPlay Settings

When it comes to AirPlaying in the classroom, you have a few options to share your screen via the projector.

  • Mirror Built-in Retina Display = whatever you view on your computer will be projected onto the screen (serves as a direct mirror)

  • Use as Separate Display = the projector will serve as an extended desktop and you can project one thing on the screen while you use your computer screen for something else

  • How do you know which one to use?

    • Use Mirror Built-in display when you want students to see exactly what you see on your screen (a movie, a presentation, document, activity, game...)

    • Use Separate Display when you want to be able to display something on the projector while simultaneously using your computer screen for something else you do not want students to see

      • Ex) Project the Kahoot game your students are playing, or directions to an activity, on the projector and use your computer screen to take attendance, send emails all at the same time
