A native of St Alban’s, Newfoundland, Megan Oake (Buffett) began singing and playing the piano at a very young age. She entered her first Kiwanis music class in Grand Falls-Windsor at the age of 4. She continued performing, conducting and accompanying other singers in this Kiwanis music festival until the age of 17, when she was awarded the Kiwanis Club of Grand Falls-Windsor scholarship.

Megan went on to receive her Bachelor of Music in vocal performance with a minor in German studies from Mount Allison University. While at Mount Allison University, she was awarded the Mary Emerancy Music Scholarship recognizing academic and performance excellence, the Robert Fleming Scholarship in composition, a composer in residence placement, and the Mary T. Walshman Scholarship for showing most promise for a professional career. Megan then obtained her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy at Memorial University, studying under Dr. Caroline Schiller. Upon completing her Masters of Music, Megan was named a Fellow of the School of Graduate Studies.

Megan has been teaching private vocal and piano lessons as well as group early music education classes for the past 5 years in Winnipeg, Manitoba and before that, with The Music Collection in St. John's. She is very excited to open her first studio in Grand Falls-Windsor, and be able to teach students in the same area where she grew up loving music.

Stella the Golden-doodle has recently been appointed studio assistant as she may provide welcome barks to all who enter the studio. You may not see Stella while at the studio, but if you do, she enjoys head and belly scratches. She is very excited to meet all of the new students!
She also loves cheering for her hometown team, the Winnipeg Jets.
