History

Despite our brief history, the Oak Park High School Boy's golf program has developed into one of the most competitive in the region.  In addition to our league titles, Oak Park has never failed to reach CIF postseason play and in 2000, 2006 & 2019 advanced to the CIF finals.  In 2019, we won our first CIF Championship. In 2002, Brandon Beck finished 5th in CIF individuals and became the first golfer in school history to advance to the SCGA/CIF Qualifying State finals. In 2019, we had a record four players qualify for CIF. Darren Chiu and Austin Liu moved on to the SCGA /CIF finals and Austin fired a -2, 70 to become the first Oak Park player to compete in the state championship at Poppy Hills. In 2022, Gylles Alford became the first golfer to be recognized by OPHS as the Male Athlete of the Year. In 2024, sophomore Alex Cheng was the Coastal Canyon League MVP.
