If it is missing two weeks or more - WISE starts to generate error reports 😬 PLEASE update the attendance at least once a week.
Please watch this video on how to mark Readings on WISE:
This video was updated on October 2024 with the TWO ways you can mark Assessment under the Credit tab on WISE.
(To easily access the website MyInstitute.churchofjesuschrist.org)
See the attached document for how to add a MyInstitute Button or Icon to your home screen on a device.
All students must register for Institute when they take their first Institute course. This gives us permission to record their attendance on WISE.
How can you tell who is unregistered? Check your "Summary" column on WISE. Anyone who has a red icon, that looks like a piece of paper and a pencil, is unregistered.
It is helpful if returning students register for each course they take, but not essential.
There are 4 ways to register a student:
Students register themselves on the website: MyInstitute.churchofjesuschrist.org
Teachers register them on WISE (I'll upload a video soon on how to do this). You would do this after obtaining verbal or written permission to do so. This is where the paper roll we send you can come in handy.
Ask your Administrative Assistant to register them. You would do this after obtaining verbal or written permission to do so. This is where the paper roll we send you can come in handy.
You can download the attachment, print it, and have the students complete it. Then go to steps 2. or 3. above.
See above for how students can make a button for their phone's home screen for easy access to the website myInstitute.churchofjesuschrist.org.

USEFUL SEARCHES
Previously Enrolled. This is a good option if you know they've attended a class before. Note: you don't have to enter any years or terms, just hit "Search" after selecting this option. If you want to narrow the search, a year or term.
Assigned and Affiliated Stakes. This does a broad sweep of those who have records in your stake.
Some stakes, who work closely together with neighbouring stakes, may be able to search more than one stake. This only happens if your neighbouring stake is listed as an "Affiliated Stake".
Global Membership. You need their initials and their date-of-birth for this search. This is useful for members whose Church Records have not yet transferred to your Stake.
SOME TIPS
Enter Initials Only
This does a broader search. If the name you have is spelt differently on church records, it won't appear. However, it will if you have the correct initials.
Punctuation Matters
It a name has an apostrophe in it - it needs to be added if you are typing in the name. Names that start with apostrophe's are listed first alphabetically.
If a letter has a macron over in on the student's church records - you will need to enter it in the search engine the same way. Or, just use their initials for a broader search.
If you would like any help - please reach out your Administrative Assistant.
What to try if you can't access WISE.
Start with the first suggestion below. If unsuccessful, move down the list.
Is the left-hand side of the screen set up similar to the attached image? It should be the same for the first 3 lines. If you are not in the Wellington Stake, then your own Stake's name should appear for the 4th line.
If your screen does not look similar, and it is not green at the very top of the screen, you will need to select your area. Start at the top (where the image has "Pacific Area") and click on the blue arrow head to the right. The name "Pacific Area" should appear in a pop-up box to the right of the grey area (it's pretty small and high up on the screen). Click on the pop-up box.
Once you have selected "Pacific Area", the second line should appear with an arrow head you can click on. Once you have clicked on the arrow head you should see a new pop-up box with "New Zealand Region". Select this. Repeat these steps for the third line, selecting "New Zealand Wellington Terrace Coordinator". Finally, select your Stake.
If you have trouble with this, you are welcome to meet with the Administration Assistant online and share your screen so they can talk you through it.
Try a different Internet Browser. Google is a good browser to use for WISE. It will also work on other browsers. Try a different one to see if it works better, e.g. Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Edge.
Check to see if your computer needs any updates. If you do, run the updates and then try Signing In to WISE again.
Clear your Cookies and Cache. Then try Signing In to WISE again.
