Northview Youth Soccer Association (NYSA) is the group of parents and community members who oversee Northview's recreational soccer league for children ages 5 through 15. While most of our players are from the Northview area, any child in the greater Grand Rapids area is welcome to participate on our teams.
How We Operate
NYSA is officially a program under Northview Public Schools - Athletics. The program's official name is Northview Youth Athletics: Soccer but many know us by our association name, NYSA.
Our program is directed by a volunteer board made up of parents and community members from the Northview area who are committed to offering area children the opportunity to enjoy and learn the game of soccer.
Each age group has a board member that serves as coordinator and oversees structuring teams, planning games, and making sure coaches have the resources that they need to be successful.
Coaches are usually also parents, however we have several Northview High School alumni who coach our older middle school teams.
Our referees are typically local community kids and parents. All of our referees 14 and older are reimbursed fees to become USSF certified refs.
Please consider signing up to volunteer as a coach or board member. All coaches and board members are volunteers, and the program cannot run without them. There is a discounted rate for coaching.
Registration Costs
The cost for all ages is $55.00 per child.
Weather Cancellation Policy
If Northview school district cancels school / activities, then soccer is also canceled.
In following the MHSAA (Michigan High School Athletic Association) guidelines: once Thunder is heard or Lightning seen, whichever comes first, all teams are to seek immediate safe shelter. NO one is to return to the field until 30 minutes after the last sound of Thunder or last lightning bolt. The clock starts over with each new blast or strike. Referees will notify the teams if delayed games will resume play after the ALL CLEAR or will be terminated due to the weather.
Northview Youth Soccer Association reserves the right to cancel practices/games when field conditions are poor due to any form of precipitation. We will do our best to provide make up arrangements or alternate practice locations. Thank you for your patience.
