Coaching Info

For the league to remain affordable, all coaches are also volunteers. Typically the coaches are parents of one of the players. Background checks are ran on all volunteers to ensure the safety of the players. Discounts are also offered to those that volunteer to coach.

Coaching Requirements:

  • Volunteer form must be on file with Northview School District

    • Background Check: ALL coaches & assistant coaches must have a background check on file with the district. Fill out background check form ASAP by clicking the Red Link at this website. Choose "Community Education" when asked what campus you plan to volunteer at.

  • Heads UP Concussion certificate on file with NYSA

    • State of Michigan requires all youth sport coaches to have this training, It is available for free here.

  • Attend coaches' meeting with age group coordinator

    • Turn in volunteer form

    • Turn in your Heads Up certificate

  • Attend coaches' training session OR meet with coordinator in lieu of a training session

    • Free training to learn how to run a session, activities, and foot skills.

  • Hold two (2) practices per week, your choice of nights and time

    • U10 and below 1 hour sessions, U12 and above 1 1/2 hour sessions

  • Games will generally be on Saturday mornings for U12 and below, U14 games are weekday evenings.

    • U10 and below will all be held at Highlands Middle school

    • U12 Grade will have some local travel (i.e East Grand Rapids, Sparta, etc)
