What do CSA District Chairs do?

CSA District Chairs and Assistant Chairs have long been considered the eyes and ears of the union. They serve as liaisons between the members and the central office, as well as provide a contact point between members and CSA Field Representatives. Chairs help answer questions regarding contract rights, and monitor job vacancies and ensure a CSA representative sits on the hiring panel for the C-30 processes. Central CSA leadership select District Chairs and Assistant Chairs.

District Chairs must maintain confidentiality with members.  The Chairs must know the members, establish a strong line of communication with them, develop trust, share information, and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.  If members need to escalate concerns from the field, such concerns should be brought to the Chair.  If the chair cannot resolve the issue, it is escalated to the Director of Field Services.  If neither the Chair nor Director of Field Services can resolve the violation, the issue will be escalated to the CSA Leadership Team (Executive Director of Field Services).
