Mathematics Intervention Programs
This document summarizes mathematics intervention programs. Schools are encouraged to work with their District Support Teams to make choices that will meet the needs of their communities. This list of programs will be updated periodically.
NYC Solves is excited to announce the launch of NYCPS Math Interventions Project. Developed in collaboration with math experts from the Bank Street College of Education, which will provide schools with a robust suite of resources to be released by Summer 2025, including:
K-12 Math Intervention Handbook: A toolkit of ready-to-use resources and evidence-based practices, featuring real-world case studies from NYC Public Schools to guide and inspire effective intervention efforts.
List of NYCPS-Endorsed Math Intervention Programs: A curated selection of research- and evidence-based programs tailored to support diverse student needs, with detailed guidance for implementation.
Professional Learning Modules: A suite of asynchronous training resources focused on key areas of the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), equipping educators with the tools to deliver effective, data-driven, and differentiated math interventions.
We are also interested in hearing from you! If you have any promising intervention practices or programs that you would like to share with the math community please reach out to us at NYCSolves@schools.nyc.gov .
"Interventions should not aim to address every mathematical skill. Instead, they should focus on the key content that enables students to access grade-level core instruction—both now and in the future."
