DETAILS:
What?
For this cohort, you'll submit one piece of writing that you plan to polish for publication. We provide some suggestions below.
How and Where?
We will meet online via e-mail, Google docs, Google Hangouts, and this website. We will even meet in person for coffee (if and when that is possible).
Credit/Cost?
Our group is free! However, you can opt to complete this for graduate workshop credit for a small fee, and we can issue free certificates of completion that you can use for CEUs/PDUs.

Registration Deadline for graduate credit: Wednesday, April 26, 2023
DATES AND DEADLINE:
Friday, February 3rd: Sign up and official kickoff begins - fill out the online application by Friday, March 3rd.
Monday, March 6th: Google Meet Orientation @ 6 PM.
March 6th-March 31st (approximately 4 weeks): This is the time to develop and finish the draft you plan to use for this group. We recommend one of the following:
One academic research paper.
One short story.
Two pieces of flash fiction.
Three to Five poems.
One chapter of a novel/novella.
These recommendations mirror what you should expect when professionally submitting your work. Submissions can range from zero drafts to polished, edited work in need of final copy edits.
Friday, March 31st: COMPOSITION DEADLINE - Hopefully it's a "Ta-da!" instead of a "duh, duh!"
April 1st-2nd: Rest and celebrate that you met the deadline!
Monday, April 3rd - Digital Partner Meeting via Google Meet @ 6 PM.
April 3rd - May 5th (5 weeks, 3 partners, one exchange every two weeks with time for revisions): Peer review, suggestion, and editing.
TBD: Don't forget about the registration deadline for graduate credit - if you need to renew your teaching license or something of that nature, you can pay a small fee for graduate credit if you want to do so. The deadline is Wednesday, April 26, 2023!
May 6th-7th: Sleep and rest. Get away from all electronic devices - metaphorically put your paper in a drawer.
May 8th -12th: Time for final revision before submission - get ready to share your finished work!
Saturday, May 13th:
Location TBD: Coffee and meeting in-person for celebration or digital meeting! We'll read our pieces, drink highly enjoyable beverages, and breathe a shared sigh of relief.
For those taking this for semester hours* and for those seeking CEUs** - submit your final, revised piece.
EVERYONE! See the links and suggestion page, and be on the lookout for potential publication options. Notify us when you find a place to submit, when you get acceptance, and/or when you successfully print your work.
* Semester Hours: The course officially concludes on May 26, 2021. Grades will be posted and transcripts will be available after that date. Contact the bursar's office for specifics.
** CEUs: Certificates are available upon request to reflect participation in the course.
