Started with Eastwood Eagles class of 2016 as 4th graders- Nick, Johnny, Jared, Josh, Brian, and Brandon. We played in several NWOBball.com tournaments. This group stayed together for a couple of years.
With the class of 2018, as 4th graders, Todd Henline and Don Christie coaching the team known as Triple Threat. This group had an extremely successful experience. Don't let the picture above fool you, they may have been 4 foot tall, but those kids could flat out play.
Officially changed our name to NWO Eagles mostly because our Eastwood Eagles attire would work for school basketball and for the travel program. As this class got to middle school, several classmates were also playing with us. But OHSAA rules prohibit the number of players and it because clear, we needed to create another team. As we adopted more interest, the program grew and by 2015 there were 10 teams.
The program was officially turned over to Mickey Shank and NWO would now be run from Elmwood High School. In the first year at Elmwood, NWO had 10 teams with 100 players.
... COVID... enough said
The program was officially taken over by Heather & Ty Traxler. This year we have 12 teams ranging from 5th- 11th grade.
