We are always looking for volunteers to help.
This event is supported by the Izaak Walton League's Porter County Chapter, Discovery Trackers 4-H Club, & Rebuilding Together Duneland. During the Garlic Mustard Pull on 4/29/23, we will be targeting the new growth garlic mustard. Two PCC members who are Master Naturalists and another a USFW Botanist, will lead us in identifying the invasive plant, and show how to pull and dispose of it properly. Our goal is to deplete garlic mustard on this conservation site as well as send folks home with the knowledge to pull garlic mustard in their yards/communities when they find it. Participants should wear sturdy shoes, long sleeves and pants, garden gloves and bring a refillable water bottle. (PCC will provide water refills) There is a porta potty on site. Meet at the Frame Family Little Calumet Conservation Area's SOUTH gate (1280-ish N. County Line Road). The SOUTH gate is just 1 driveway south of the 1288 Residential address (the house is not Izaak Walton property). You are looking for a farm lane going into the woods. Parking along the tree-line outside the gate. 1280 N.
